For my capstone project at the University of Pittsburgh, we must partner with an organization that serves children and/or families, identify a need within the organization, and design a program to solve that need. I am partnering with the child life team at West Penn Burn Center to develop resources for pediatric burn patients and their caregivers.

During my practicum's service hours at a school for children with autism, we were challenged to create an activity for the classroom we were assigned to. This activity was to address one or more of the lessons they were learning.

For my capstone for my Human Development major at Eckerd College, we were tasked to write a major comprehensive paper applying developmental theory to extensive lifespan interviews with individuals over the age of 65. I chose to interview my grandmother for this project.

During my practicum, I found it challenging to journal in a way that allowed me to truly reflect on my experiences, apply theory, and consider the reasonings behind behaviors, not just recount what happened. I created a guided student journal to help me reflect, set goals, track my progress, and assess myself during the internship.
